The Experience
Camp Doros is an intimate and deliberately small safari camp located in the heart of Damaraland, offering a unique opportunity to engage with desert-adapted black rhino alongside experienced Rhino Rangers. Perched on a high bank overlooking a dry riverbed, the camp boasts one of Namibia's lowest environmental footprints. Guests can expect personalized service, hearty meals prepared in a solar and wood-fired kitchen, and an immersive exploration of this incredible region.
The camp features six shaded, raised Meru tents, including a family unit, all equipped with solar power for lighting and charging, hot running showers, and en-suite flush toilets. A spacious common area provides a bar, dining room, lounge with fireplaces, campfire deck, and a refreshing plunge pool with a sun deck. Activities primarily focus on tracking black rhino, with extended stays offering opportunities to search for desert-adapted elephants and visit ancient rock engraving sites.
Camp Doros is committed to conservation, working closely with Save The Rhino Trust and contributing to Wildlife Credits. It also implements sustainable management practices for power, water, and waste, making it an eco-conscious choice for discerning travelers seeking an authentic and impactful safari experience.
