The Explorer Camp at Shamwari Private Game Reserve offers a unique and immersive walking safari experience during South Africa’s summer season (September to May). This back-to-basics approach allows guests to intimately connect with nature, guided by armed and qualified walking guides. The camp, discreetly fenced for safety, comprises three canvas tents set on a plateau amidst unique basalt and granite extrusions, providing a truly magical and private setting. It focuses on delivering an eye-opening encounter with the wilderness, emphasizing adventure inspired by nature. Accommodation consists of comfortable canvas tents, each with twin beds (king convertible), en-suite toilet and shower facilities, and essential amenities including solar LED lights. While retaining an explorer ambiance, the camp ensures privacy for each tent. The experience is designed for adults, with a minimum age of 16 and a maximum of two adults per tent, making it an ideal choice for those seeking an exclusive bush walking adventure. Guests embark on daily walking trails, which can last up to four hours, exploring the diverse landscape of Shamwari. A game viewing vehicle remains in camp for convenience.
